HAPPY BIRTHDAY DISTINGUISHED SENATOR VICTOR NDOMA-EGBA, SAN

The leadership of Mary Knoll College Alumni Association (MKC-AA) heartily celebrates with an energetic, highly spirited and devoted alumnus, Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN on the occasion of his birthday anniversary today.

 

A politician of high standing and great repute, he has unar­guably made giant strides to Nigeria’s democratic sus­tenance and societal advance­ment. While in the Senate he was known to be a promoter of good governance, and a strong believer in the unity, peace, and progress of the Nigerian nation as reflected in his valuable contributions to debates on issues of national importance.

 

Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba was Leader of the 7th Senate, Deputy Senate Leader of the 6th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he was a member of the Senate of the 5th to the 7th Assemblies, from 2003 to 2015. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1978 and started his professional career with Kanu G. Agabi & co in 1979. An ex-Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), he is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

 

In his 12-year sojourn at the Senate, he ex­hibited rare leadership qualities that saw him standing head and shoulders above his colleagues in terms of performance and rating of individual lawmakers based on legislative activities, projects’ fa­cilitation and empowerment of constituents. He meaningfully affected the lives of the people of Cross River Central Senatorial District via quality legislation and representa­tion.

 

Born in the ancient city of Ikom, Cross River State, Ndo­ma-Egba wrote the West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1972 and proceeded to obtain his Higher School Certificate in 1974; both at Mary Knoll College, Okuku- Ogoja. He graduated in 1977 at the University of Lagos. He practiced law extensively in all the Superior Courts of record for several years and was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2004.

 

Today, we celebrate not just an old boy but an exceptional leader whose meticulous approach to everything he does has been nothing short of remarkable. His dedication and efforts towards societal growth and development is top notch, and his contributions legendary.

 

A day like this truly calls for not only cheerful garlands and celebration of what God has made of him, but also candid reflection of God’s goodness and grace, His favour and kindness as well as of His love and mercy towards him and his family.
