ADC National Media Frontiers Blasts Federal Government Over Escalating School Abductions

The *African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Media Frontiers* has expressed deep concern over the *recent abduction and partial release of schoolchildren from a Catholic school in Nigeria*, describing the development as another heartbreaking reminder of the nation’s worsening security crisis. In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, *Honourable Muhammed MJG GKAF,* the ADC National Media Frobtiers commended security agencies and community actors whose coordinated efforts led to the safe return of several abducted children to their families.

The group noted that this outcome brings *temporary relief* to affected communities and demonstrates what is possible when stakeholders act with speed and determination.

Despite this progress, the *ADC National Media Frontiers* insists that the nation cannot celebrate while *many other children remain in captivity, enduring trauma and uncertainty.* The statement condemned the continued targeting of schools by criminal elements, warning that the increasing frequency of such attacks is eroding public trust in the safety of educational institutions and *jeopardising the future of Nigerian youth.*

The group called on the *Federal Government* to intensify intelligence gathering and strengthen *inter agency* collaboration to ensure the swift rescue of the remaining abducted children and prevent further tragedies. It further urged security leadership to *demonstrate transparency and accountability in tackling these crimes,* insisting that *perpetrators must be apprehended and prosecuted without delay*.

The group also encouraged *state governments and local communities* to reinforce school protection systems, strengthen vigilance at the grassroots, and invest in rapid response mechanisms capable of deterring attacks. Additionally, the statement appealed to *international partners to support Nigeria with the necessary expertise in hostage rescue operations,* counter terrorism, and community resilience strategies.

Reaffirming its stance, the ADC National Media Frontiers emphasized that *the safety of Nigerian children is non negotiable.* Every child, the party stressed, deserves an environment where learning is free from fear. The statement concluded with a call for national unity, vigilance, and collective responsibility in safeguarding the country’s future.
