A chieftain of APC in Ondo state and newly inaugurated member of University of Ibadan Governing Board, Chief Dr Alex Ajipe has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over costituted Transition Committees for the 18 local government areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the State.
Ajipe also applauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritizing the welfare of people at the grassroot.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ajipe said the appointment of credible people to manage the affairs of local government councils in the state is a testament and commitment of the governor to bring democracy to the people at the grassroot.
He congratulated the newly appointed local government transition committee members urging them to use their offices to engender peace and development in their respective domains.
The APC chieftain also hailed Governor Aiyedatiwa and the party chairman Engr. Adetimehin for carrying all party stakeholders along in the selection of local government helmsmen, stressing that this will further strengthen the party at the grassroots.
He called on those who showed interest but didn’t make the list to join hands with the new helmsmen to move the party forward in the state.
Ajipe however charged the new helmsmen to be focused on delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
“As transition committee, the people of the state expect you to domesticate the progressive leadership of the Governor at the grassroots level and to improve the quality of lives of citizens.”
“I call on the people to rally round these caretaker chairmen as they take steps to build on the enduring legacies of Governor lucky Aiyedatiwa” he said.
Ajipe also called on the people of Ondo state to replicate same love they have for Governor Aiyedatiwa to All the transition committee members
