
Aralola Olamuyiwa, globally known as Ara the First Female Talking Drummer, has been appointed as the Special Envoy on Cultural Diplomacy and Global Creative Affairs by the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
This appointment recognizes Ara’s outstanding contributions to promoting African culture, music, heritage, and creative excellence across the world for more than 25 years. As an international cultural icon and Nigeria’s foremost female talking drummer, Ara has consistently used her art to build bridges, foster unity, and elevate African identity on global stages.
In this new role, Ara will support Ondo State’s agenda in advancing cultural diplomacy, strengthening international creative collaborations, and showcasing the state’s cultural and tourism assets to the world.
Speaking on the appointment, Ara expressed gratitude and renewed commitment to her mission of cultural advocacy.
“I am deeply honoured by this recognition and the trust placed in me. I look forward to contributing meaningfully to cultural diplomacy and representing Ondo State and Nigeria with excellence,” she said.
