Hon. Shittu Rasaq, Aroko, a prominent Lagos socialite, celebrated his 60th birthday in grand style at the Ronny Dee Events Centre in Agege, near Pen Cinema on Sunday, June 22. The event drew the nobles of Lagos society, including political bigwigs, socialites, traditional leaders, family, friends, and business partners, both from Nigeria and the diaspora.
Born on June 14, 1965, to Alhaji Ganiyu Shittu and Alhaja Fausat Ibilewa Shittu in Ijebu-Ode, Aroko’s life has been a testament to his hard work and dedication. He began his primary education at Anglican Primary School, Ogudu, and later attended Ogudu Senior Grammar School. Aroko furthered his education at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, where he earned professional certificates in Security and Safety Management and Public Administration.
Aroko’s impressive career spans multiple fields. He has worked in the printing industry, rising to become Assistant Production Manager at Reward Publishing Company. He is also a successful automobile dealer, serving as the Managing Director/CEO of RASLAB MOTORS and Treasurer of the United Motor Dealers Association at Tincan Port, Apapa.
In politics, Aroko has held various positions within the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, including Revenue Consultant to the Local Government. He is also a Special Adviser on Security matters to Man O’ War, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government.
The attendance at his birthday celebration suggests he’s a respected figure in Lagos. Felicitations from notable figures poured in ceaselessly, with the Chairman of the occasion, Hon.
