As Muslims around the world are still basking in euphoria of Eid-el-Kabir festival, Professor Muhammad Omolaja, a prominent politician and former presidential aspirant under the Action Democratic Party (ADP) during the 2023 presidential election, has called on Nigeria government to embrace the courage of Prophet Ibrahim for his hearted readiness to sacrifice his first son, Ismail, in fulfillment of his promise to the Almighty Allah. Professor
Muhammad Omolaja, in his sallah message, which was delivered through his Media Director, Comrade Ajibade Alabi, says there is still hope for Nigeria ceteris paribus (all things being equal). “There is hope, for Nigerians especially if our leaders can imbibe that passion for sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim as well as to emulate the total, absolute and unconditional submission to the will of
Allah exhibited (demonstrated) by Ismail for submitting himself to be slaughtered by his father. If they can emulate Prophet Ibrahim who was about to sacrifice his only begotten son, Ismail, in fulfillment of his promise to Allah, there will be hope for the country. Although many of our leaders always preach sacrifice, how many of them can sacrifice for the country and do away with their selfishness to make Nigeria a better place to live? Majority of them are self centered; the irony of it is that they all know about the story of Ibrahim
. Even the Christians among them also know it because in Christianity, Ibrahim is known as Abraham, and hence the story is the same whether in Christianity or in Islam.”Professor Muhammad Omolaja also used the opportunity to congratulate Nigerians wishing them a successful 2025 Eid-el-Kabir festivities. “I use this medium to extend my wholehearted greetings to the entire great Nigerian people while assuring them that with perseverance, better days are still coming; we shall get it right by voting massively for the right candidates during the forthcoming 2027 general election.”
He said. He also encouraged individuals and communities to embrace the deeper significance of Prophet Ibrahim, highlighting message of enduring faith, resilience, and sacrifice which he said Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated.“Eid-el-Kabir is a powerful reminder that after a sacrifice or hardship, there shall be victory, as displayed by Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail. The obedience and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim challenges us to live with purpose of our lives filled with compassion, unity and sacrifice which to me is lacking in majority of our leaders of today.” Professor Omolaja stated. He also emphasized that the festivity presents a timely opportunity for obedience, sacrifice, reconciliation, and a renewed commitment to collective well-being; especially towards making sure that Nigerians enjoy the deserved dividends of democracy which can be achieved through a collective efforts. “As we confront challenges both as a nation and as individuals, let this festival reignite our faith in a brighter, more inclusive future, which we can build together through acts of kindness, courage, sacrifice and unwavering trust in God Almighty (Allah)
.” He added. Professor Muhammad Omolaja also used the opportunity to speak on his dream for better Nigeria. He said that Nigerians shall have their destiny in their hands comes 2027 general election when he said they will vote out the incumbent APC government at all levels of governance in the country.
