Renewed Hope Ambassadors Mobilise NASFAT Members for Tinubu, Hamzat Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors Lagos, Directorate of Muslim Affairs, has commenced sensitisation and mobilisation efforts among Muslim communities across Lagos State ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The delegation, led by the Director of the Directorate of Muslim Affairs, Alhaji Waheed Tella, paid a courtesy and sensitisation visit to the NASFAT Society, Lagos State, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, as part of efforts to encourage active participation in the electoral process.
The initiative is being undertaken under the leadership of Mr. Tayo Akinmade, Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State and Ambassador of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Lagos State.

Addressing the NASFAT leadership and members, Alhaji Tella urged Muslims across Lagos State to participate actively in the forthcoming elections by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and exercising their civic responsibilities.
He emphasised the importance of collective participation, noting that the large Muslim population in Lagos could play a significant role in determining the outcome of elections if members turn out en masse to vote.
According to him, the Directorate is mobilising support for its political agenda, which includes the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the election of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Governor of Lagos State.

Tella also called on members to encourage their families, including fathers, mothers and children who are 18 years and above, to participate in the electoral process, stressing the need for greater representation of Muslim interests in governance.
The NASFAT leadership warmly received the delegation and expressed its readiness to support voter education and peaceful electoral participation among its members across Lagos State.

The organisation also pledged to sensitise its members on the importance of obtaining their PVCs, exercising their civic rights responsibly and maintaining peace before, during and after the elections.
The programme ended with prayers for peaceful and credible elections, as well as continued peace, unity and progress in Lagos State and Nigeria.
