The Oodua people’s Congress reformed president has described the suspension of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, and his subsequent arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS) as good radiance which is long over due.
He confirmed the decision of the president as the best he has made since his inauguration, which is long overdue.
According to him in a release issue out to press on Saturday, ‘I foretold Godwin Emefiele disgrace from office but people did not believe me because i am not a pastor so i am not surprise when it actually happened’ he said.
Adesope said the critics that are criticising President Tinubu’s decision should also recall that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was equally suspended from office by the Jonathan administration so suspension of a CBN governor did not start in this era.
The OPC boss said Emefiele will forever be remembered for his malicious currency redesign exercise which didn’t go down well with Nigerians and the CBN ways which also made people suffer during his tenure.
Emefiele should face the law, how can he perfect naira redesign and at the same time attempting to join the list of Presidential candidates. He lost economy focus for his ambition.
It will be recall that President Bola Tinubu on Friday evening suspended Emefiele as CBN governor citing an ongoing investigation of his office saying the development was in line with his administration’s plan to reform the financial sector of the economy.
