United States-based Fuji musician, Adéwálé Àkànjí, popularly known as Barryshowkey, has released a new single titled “DNA” in a bold move to put an end to years of speculation surrounding his paternity and his relationship with the late Fuji legend, Sikiru Ayinde Balogun.
The seven-minute track directly confronts persistent claims circulated on social media suggesting that
Barryshowkey is not one of the children of the late creator of Fuji music. Through heartfelt lyrics, the singer dismisses the rumours and reaffirms his identity as a biological son of the iconic musician.
In one of the song’s most emotional verses, Barryshowkey declares that his late father never denied him as his child at any point during his lifetime.
“Sikiru Ayinde Barrister never disowned me as a child. Until his passing, I remained one of his favourite children,” he sings, using the song to challenge what he describes as misleading narratives and unfounded allegations.
According to the Fuji star, “DNA” is more than just another musical release. It is a personal statement intended to correct public misconceptions and preserve the truth about his family heritage.
The single has already been released on several major digital streaming platforms, including Boomplay, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Anghami and other music services, making it accessible to fans around the world.
Barryshowkey also revealed that work is already underway on the official music video, assuring fans that the visuals will soon be released to further complement the powerful message behind the song.
Having spent several years building his career in Fuji music, Barryshowkey has steadily carved out his own identity while carrying the legacy of his late father.
