A former media professional, Najeem Sunday Lawal, has declared his intention to contest the Isokan–Irewole State Constituency seat in the Osun State House of Assembly in the 2027 election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Lawal, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said his decision was motivated by the need to provide purposeful, accountable and people-oriented representation for the people of the constituency.
He identified poor roads, inadequate electricity supply, insufficient manpower and equipment in healthcare facilities, and limited opportunities for youth empowerment as some of the major challenges confronting the people of Isokan and Irewole.
According to him, the constituency requires a representative who genuinely cares about the people and is committed to attracting development projects to the area.
He said, “My ambition is simple: to serve our people and work tirelessly to address the challenges affecting our communities.
“This can only be achieved when we come together and choose someone who will genuinely care for the people and work for the development of our constituency.”
Lawal listed improved roads and infrastructure, better healthcare services, youth empowerment and employment opportunities, improved access to electricity and other essential amenities, and transparent management of public resources among his priorities.
He also promised to work towards attracting meaningful development projects to the constituency if elected.
The aspirant, a citizen of the United States of America, appealed to residents of Isokan and Irewole, including those in the diaspora, to support his ambition with prayers, advice and constructive ideas.
He said, “I remain your brother, your son, your friend, and your servant.
“Together, we can build a constituency we will all be proud of.”
Lawal urged the people to unite and support a candidate who would prioritise their welfare and represent their interests effectively at the state legislature.
