The League of Yoruba Media Practitioners (LYMP) has congratulated prominent political figure and Egba chieftain, Segun Showunmi, on his inclusion in the revised Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Showunmi’s inclusion in the council’s Media Communications Team places him among notable political figures and public office holders selected to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
In a congratulatory message, LYMP described the development as a recognition of Showunmi’s experience in politics and public communication, while wishing him success in his new assignment.
The revised campaign council list features several prominent personalities, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the FCT, and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, named as the campaign coordinator for Osun State.
Other members of the Media Communications Team include Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin; and Lere Olayinka, media aide to Wike. Obafemi George was also named a media adviser.
The council brings together serving governors, lawmakers, ministers, party leaders and other political stakeholders to coordinate various aspects of the re-election campaign.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari will serve as Director-General of the campaign council, with Senator Adams Oshiomhole as Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation and Femi Gbajabiamila overseeing administration. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will retain his position as secretary.
Showunmi’s inclusion adds another responsibility to his political engagement, as he joins the team tasked with managing media communication and public messaging for the campaign.
LYMP’s congratulatory message underscores the association’s recognition of its members and other Yoruba media and political figures making contributions to public affairs.
