NTDA Boss, Tpl. John Olakunle Aboyeji in Land Grabbing Mess, Community Goes On Massive Protest in Lagos

The General Manager of New Towns Development Authority (NTDA), Tpl. Olakunle John Aboyeji has been accused of unlawful allocation for kickback of over 200 Hectares of land belonging to Okegbomosheye community in Epe metropolitan area, another unlawful allocation of Edu Family land and that of Mayunre Village in disrespect for the Supreme Court Judgement.

Museyo Community is also said to be in pain as Aboyeji stormed the community with Bulldozers to unlawfully demolished people’s properties in other to forcefully take over the community’s land, giving pocession to Itunu – Veritasi, Aiyetoro Landmark Ltd, & DPK whom are all fronting for the him (Aboyeji) whom the communities believed is working with Babajide Sanwoolu, the governor of Lagos State in land allocation for kickback.

According to the news gathered by our correspondent, Aboyeji was alleged to have taken over 666 Hectares of Edu and Museyo community’s land about 3 months ago after an inconclusive meeting with the Baale of the community, claiming to have acquired them for Aiyetoro Scheme. Just of recent, this same John Aboyeji resurfaced by illegally grabbing another 20 Hectares of land in the same community making the real owners of the land confused and lose confidence in their community leader, which forced them to embark on a massive protest on Saturday 30th July 2022, where the Baale denied reaching an agreement or signing any document with Aboyeji to take over their land.

While speaking with Newsmen on Saturday during the protest, the Baale, in a visual record obtained by our correspondent confirmed that the NTDA boss, John Aboyeji met with him last year and there was no agreement nor signed document or take money from him to acquire his community land.

When he was asked if he did any transaction with John Aboyeji of NTDA or Bode Agoro on land allocation, he responded that, “I know John Aboyeji, the director of NTDA. I didn’t know him before until when he came around last year and there was no agreement between us for him to acquire our land. I don’t know the Bode Agoro you are talking about and there is no agreement between us but most of the companies Bode Agoro and Aboyeji are allocating our land to had confessed to us, that the State officials are taking 25 million kickback per hecatres to their individual accounts aside the money paying into the state government and we have the conversation on record. By the special grace of God, I can boldly stand before anybody anywhere to say that I didn’t sign any agreement with anyone to acquire our land. DPK, Itunu and Aiyetoro Landmark Limited have been using our Land to defraud innocent land buyers and we have been telling them that the State have no right to sell our land”, he claimed.

The Baale however, pleaded to the Attorney General of the Lagos State Government to come to their rescue before Sanwo-Olu, John Aboyeji and his crew will finish selling their land.

According to him, I am calling on the Attorney General of the Lagos State to advice and also for his immediate intervention as the governor has been closing his eyes while his subordinates are illegally hijacking our land.
It is no longer funny as the owners of the land believed that I was the one selling the land. I am again using this opportunity to plead to the Executive Governor of Lagos State to consider his pledge to the Lagosians because I don’t want John Aboyeji and Agoro and his people to come to this land again. I am a man of peace, I don’t want violence or engage in a combat with those who NTDA are bringing here, you can see my people here, as soon as possible, I want the governor to address this issues of state sponsoring landgrabbing. I don’t know anyone called DPK, Veritasi or Itunu, let alone selling our land to them. I was alleged to have collected a huge amount of millions from the said DPK to let go off our land but my question is that, when was that and by which means did I collect the money? Is it through cash or Bank transfer? I didn’t collect money from anybody and that is why I asked the above question”, he said.
