A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) and Ondo North Senatorial Aspirant at the just concluded APC party primaries, Chief Dr Alex Ajipe has felicitated with the Nigerian Youth on the occasion of this year International Youth Day
In a message personally signed by him in Akure on Friday, Ajipe noted the importance of the Day which was set aside by the United Nations to draw attention to issues concerning the youth at the community, national and global levels.
Ajipe said that even in the face of unprecedented challenges, Nigerian youth have continued to demonstrate tremendous courage and resilience thereby giving hope for a better future.
According to him, the youth deserve special attention as a vulnerable group but also as the future of the nation. He said; “The education, knowledge, technical skills and character of the youth will determine the future conditions and character of the nation.
Ajipe however urged the youths to fight for their future and join politics to build a country worthy of boundless promise.
“Fight your future, involve in politics don’t surrender to the bullies.
“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.”
“One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals,” And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.”
“I want our young people to know that they matter, that they belong. So don’t be afraid — you hear me, young people? Don’t be afraid. Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered. Empower yourselves with a good education, then get out there and use that education to build a country worthy of your boundless promise. Lead by example with hope, never fear.”
“Choose people who lift you up. Find people who will make you better.”
“At the end of the day, when it comes time to make that decision,all you have to guide you are your values, and your vision, and the life experiences that make you who you are.”
