Take welfare Ogun worker’s seriously-Doctor Adeyemi urge Dapo Abiodun

Dr. Samuel Adeyemi, the gubernatorial candidate of ACTION ALLIANCE in Ogun State has implored Governor Dapo Abiodun to take the welfare of the Ogun workforce more seriously instead of pursuing White elephant projects.
According to Dr. Adeyemi, the greatest asset of Ogun State is her first class workforce which can perform wonders if appropriately motivated.

He implored the Governor to think out of the box in order to turn around the deteriorating fortunes of the State instead of waiting for Statutory allocation from Abuja which is gradually drying up.
He said the Party that came with a CHANGE mantra with enormous promises to workers and pensioners has been clueless in meeting the honest and modest expectations of the workers, pensioners and the masses at large.

The Status quo problems of:
Unremitted deductions,
Unpaid allowances,
Stagnation of promotions,
Backlog of several years of unpaid leave bonuses, gratuities and pensions.
The latest dimension to the malady is the recent hiccups even in monthly salary payments where some workers are yet to receive their May salaries when June salaries have already been paid in some neighbouring States.
According to Dr Adeyemi this is unacceptable and dehumanizing.

He further mentioned the total abandonment of the pensioners while career civil servants can no longer aspire to get to the peak of their career before retirement due to stagnated promotions, favouritism and deliberate selection of juniors above their superiors. Several of those who were supposed to retire as Permanent Secretaries never had such opportunity. He raised an alarm that the present state of affairs should not be allowed to continue otherwise the bandwagon effect will be catastrophic.

He appealed for a quick resolution of the present impasse so that normalcy can return quickly to the schools and government establishments.

The Action Alliance gubernatorial hopeful thereafter advised the Governor to cut wasteful spendings and plug leakages in the State’s finances.
He promised the workers that surpassing the hitherto unparalleled achievement of Chief Obafemi Awolowo era shall be his primary pre occupation and challenge if voted into office in the 2023 general elections in the State.
